Earth Sisters
Earth Sisters
by Emma Jenkins
Fine liner pen and paint marker on paper, framed
An exploration of female friendship and the fragility of nature. This is explored through symbolistic shapes; such as the triangle which symbolises the union of body, mind and spirit. The naked bodies represent the vulnerability and emotional intimacy shared with female friendship. The holding of the petal and the earth and night sky, the falling petals of the flower the woman is holding and the dying trees represents the existence of mortality and the fragility of our environment.
