by Tim Nash
Ready to hang oil painting on stretched canvas with signature on the back.
This artwork was influenced by ancient Greek history especially 479-404 BC, "the golden era". Tim was contemplating the Polis state how very different state groups traded and interacted and the idea of the Polis and the passionate feelings that sparked inspiration from the ancient Greeks towards their city states. The blue represents the sea and Greek trading routes, the circles represent the political reaches of different states like Sparta, Thebes and Athens. The top down views are of early city state structures like a satellite picture.
