Playing around with an old GoPro camera. I wanted to get some underwater photos and explore them in oils. I never tire of painting water and reflections. One of my first paintings on board instead of canvas. The subject is four-year-old Skyla, my great-niece.
Summer days in the water may be over for now but I’ve finally had the time, space and focus to do some experimenting with my underwater people. The pool instead of the ocean. Painting onto coloured backgrounds for the first time such as bright red 😳 and trying out gessobord instead of canvas. It took some getting used to the ultra-smooth surface and after initially disliking it I think that now I absolutely love it.
